Probably compatible

Go Ebikes states the 2 A charger is an OEM charger for 'all Sondors 36-volt electric bikes' (Smart Step is 36 V), but the Smart Step shipped with a 3 A fan-cooled charger (EBR) and no page confirms the Smart Step downtube pack uses the same 5.5x2.1 barrel port; a 2 A unit would charge more slowly.

Go Ebikes 'Charger - Battery Charger 36V 2A': 'OEM charger compatible with all Sondors 36-volt electric bikes', '5.5x2.1 mm barrel plug connection', 'matches the original charger's specifications'; page states 36 V/2 A only, not the 42 V charge-output figure. EBR Thin (2016): '1.5 lb 2 Amp Charger', 'Plug Charger Into Battery Pack Then Wall Outlet'; EBR Fold Sport (2018): '1.1 lb 2 Amp Charger'. eBay seller sobaycal 'SONDORS 36 volt charger 2 A': works with 'all SONDORS 36 volt batteries including SONDORS Original, SONDORS Thin, SONDORS Fold', NOT Fold X / Fold XS / X / XS. Charge output 42 V (36 V/42 V 2 A) is stated only by a low-quality aggregator page (bikesw.com 'Electric Bike charger for SONDORS ORIGINAL 36 V/42 V 2 AMP', output 42 V, 2 A) - treat 42 V as expected for a 10S pack but not confirmed by an OEM or specialist page.
